Bistro Don Giovanni
We had dinner at the most beautiful location last night, Bistro Don Giovanni, in Napa. The surrounding gardens were filled with shrubs, olive trees, grapevines, and Italian Cypress trees. The overall feel was of an Italian restaurant on the Mediterranean coast. The food was divine, the surroundings gorgeous. Copper pots, fresh floral and fruit arrangements, and rustic charm were abundant.
Our food
my pizza: caramelized onions, figs, gorgonzola, and arugula
my sisters cannelloni
my moms risotto
Clearly it was delicious
Well, we've been awake since 5am local time. We actually awoke to find my mom sitting on the sofa [in the dark], wrapped in a bed runner, waiting for us to wake up [since 3am, apparently]. We've eaten breakfast in our hotel, made a run to Target, and now we're back, ready to embark on our first adventures and it's only 9:23. Today we're heading to Cafe Boon-Fly for homemade donuts, then to Petaluma for the Marin cheese factory, and finally to Kendall-Jackson for a garden and wine tour. I'll keep you posted!

ReplyDeletethe olive trees are gorgeous! I also love the cypress trees....have you ever been here, Marion?
ReplyDeleteNic, the Target was nice...I didn't really see much clearance stuff! The prices seemed pretty comparable, though. This is the first time I've "gotten out" in a long time! (12yrs probably):)
