Happy Flag Day

In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777. (courtesy of wiki)

Emma's first grade class performed a Salute To the Flag celebration last week.  There was something really moving about seven-year olds singing patriotic songs and honoring veterans.  I am thankful that our children are wholly unaware of the real price of freedom.  We are beyond blessed to live in a peaceful nation, one full of opportunity and liberty.

Happy Birthday, Old Glory!

  2. Americans are so much more patriotic than Aussies. Many generations have fought under the flags of their respective countries to ensure we have the lifestyle we take for granted.

Yep those Tshirts are so cute!
