Free Groceries

One of the grocery stores very close to our house (we have at least three) was making deliveries yesterday.  The store has been remodeled and they're having a grand re-opening.  They must have hired a genius marketing company because they are delivering a bag of free groceries to all of the surrounding neighborhoods (in a one-mile radius).

Included in the bag: ketchup, coarse ground dijon, ketchup, barbeque sacue, hot wing sauce, potato stix (the kids were very impressed by this never-before seen treat), pretzels, tea bags, sandwich buns, raisin bran, and iced-tea mix.  Let me tell you, this is the way to gain customers.  You've heard the phrase, "if it's free, it's for me" - that's our motto here in Pennsylvania Dutch Country.

Weis Markets, thank you!

  1. Oh my goodness! What a delightful surprise to find on your doorstep. Genius indeed!

Grocery delivery failed here. One of the grocer's gave it a (half-hearted) try here, but their delivery fees were so high they didn't stand a chance succeeding.

    Enjoy your goodies!

  2. That IS clever marketing. And they put it all in a re-useable eco friendly bag too!
